Thursday 21 March 2024 Spring attendance and Easter bonnet competition winners Well done to our Spring attendance and Easter bonnet competition winners. Mrs Dyer’s class as the highest attending class in the school enjoyed a circus workshop to reward all of their efforts. There were also attendance raffles where 5 giant easter eggs were won by children who had a 100% attendance for the final few weeks of the Easter term along with £20 shopping vouchers for 3 children who had been at school every day for the entire spring term. A fantastic achievement.

Thursday 14 March 2024 Year 2 Animal Club Year 2 have been learning all about animals and their habitats and to complement our learning, ‘Animal Club’ visited Woodstock Primary Academy. The Animal Ranger brought along a variety of creatures including: a corn snake, two different types of geckos, a rat, a hedgehog and many more! The children learnt amazing facts about these animals including: their feeding needs, living habitats and where the animals are originally from. Here are some of our photos!

Thursday 7 March 2024 World Book Day 2024 Woodstock enjoyed another fantastic World Book Day with children dressing as their favourite book characters! Children were able to share their love of reading throughout the day and completed reading activities, created their own characters or designed an existing book character using story spoons; designed their own bookmarks, produced book recommendations, attended live lessons and much more. In the afternoon, all children voted for the book that they wanted to listen to and had the chance to share a story with a different teacher.

Friday 22 December 2023 Attendance Rewards We have been celebrating our attendance achievements over the last few days. Firstly, Mrs Rid's class who have collected the most attendance points over the term for being the highest attending class enjoyed a Christmas workshop. Then we had 5 winners from our December attendance competition who won a Christmas hamper having been entered into a raffle for having 95%+ attendance over the last four weeks. Finally, we had a raffle for the 68 children who had achieved 100% attendance since the start of the school year. Everyone of them received a selection box with 3 lucky raffle winners also taking home a £20 voucher. Well done all!

Wednesday 13 December 2023 Christmas Dinner We had a fantastic Christmas dinner celebration today with all of our children and staff enjoying a music filled lunchtime and Christmas cracker. The children loved the food and celebrations with a special mention to some of the EYFS dancing.

Friday 1 December 2023 Elf Day 2023 Today, we celebrated ‘Elf Day’ in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society! The children were really excited and enjoyed the day raising £41.00 in the process.

Friday 17 November 2023 Children in Need Today we raised money to support the Children in Need charity with all the children invited to wear special outfits with a SPOTacular theme and complete activities during afternoon learning time. Thank you to everyone who donated with the school raising £81 for a fantastic charity.

Friday 13 October 2023 Family Breakfast Thank you to everybody who attended this morning's 'Fabulous Family Continental Breakfast' with pastries, fruit platters and a sharing breakfast to start the day. As always, it was lovely to welcome the wider school community into school and we wish everybody a fabulous half-term holiday!

Friday 13 October 2023 Rocket Competition To celebrate world space week, the children were asked to become space engineers by making a space shuttle using household junk for home learning. We had an amazing response from across the school. Well done to all of the winners and everybody who took part!

Thursday 12 October 2023 Hello Yellow 2023 On Tuesday, we held our Hellow Yellow day 2023. The children wore yellow and were involved in activities throughout the afternoon to explain and raise awareness of mental health including how 'standing out and showing up' as a good friend can help each other. Thank you for all of your donations as the school raised £92 to support the YoungMinds Charity.

Friday 22 September 2023 Year 3 & 4 Back to School Games Well done to the children from year 3 and 4 who took part in the Welcome Back to School Games today. The children loved being involved in physical activity and particulalry enjoyed the tennis and captured the flag activities.

Thursday 21 September 2023 Macmillan Coffee Morning Thank you to all of the parents who attended this morning's Macmillan Coffee morning and came to the cake sale at the end of the day in aid of cancer support.

Tuesday 19 September 2023 F2 celebrated Rosh Hashanah Children in F2 celebrated Rosh Hashanah by learning about what it is and who celebrates it. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. Children made a special honey cake, and they also tried some apples and honey. Year 3 also made shofars an ancient musical horn typically made of a ram's horn, used for Jewish religious purposes.

Wednesday 6 September 2023 School Library This afternoon year 6 and F2 buddied up and explored the lovely new woodland library. The year 6 children read different books and showed F2 how to use the library and show them our amazing selection of books we have. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to each other! #pleasureforreading

Monday 10 July 2023 Viking Longships Year 4 have loved creating their very own Viking Longships over the last couple of weeks. They used a template to cut the sides and used a saw to cut their wood to the correct length for the frame. They then attached it all using glue guns. I'm sure you'll agree they are fantastic!

Monday 10 July 2023 Year 3 Attendance Reward Children in year 3 had loads of fun performing Indian sequences such as the peacock, lightbulb, waves and many more! Well done in achieving the highest attendance across the year. A real treat for all of their hard work. #TeamWoodstockPA #Attendance

Wednesday 5 July 2023 EYFS/KS1 Sports Day Despite the wind and a little rain, we had another fantastic attendance for our EYFS and KS1 Sports Day this morning. The children were again fantastic competing in a variety of events and the support from the parents for each and every child’s performance was amazing! Monday 3 July 2023 KS2 Sports Day We had a fantastic KS2 Sports Day today with events including the 50m sprint, sack race, egg & spoon, dress up race, obstacle, 3-legged race, 300m lap race and relay. As always there was some fantastic endeavour, sportsmanship and performances. Thank you to all of our wonderful parents who were brilliant in supporting every child that took part!

Saturday 24 June 2023 School Summer Fair Wow what a day! Thank you to everybody who came to the school summer fair on Saturday 24th June. The weather was fantastic, and fun was had by all. We had face painting, a tombola, splat the teacher, bingo with Mr Pope, hook a duck, raffle and tombolo prizes, welly wanging, penalty shoot out and even a police visit where the children had the opportunity to try on the uniform and play the siren from inside the car. We think it was the best attendance we’ve ever had and we are so thankful for our amazing school community who helped to raise funds for our playground redevelopment. Monday 12 June 2023 Everyone's Welcome at Woodstock EYFSDuring EYFS’s ‘My body and Growing Up’ unit, children were washing dolls in the water tray to demonstrate why it is important to keep our bodies clean. They sang songs to help them understand and value what their bodies can do, as well as taking part in a writing activity where they had to write what healthy foods they like to eat.

Tuesday 9 May 2023 International Women's Day In March, we celebrated international women's day with a competition to find out who Woodstock children admire and why. There were so many amazing entries but there our 5 winners were announced in Friday's assembly. All 5 girls explained in brilliant detail who they admire and why. We had nominations for Jill Scott, Elizabeth I, Ellie Simmonds, a super mum and our very own Mrs B, one of our year 2 teachers! Well done to all of our winners and everyone who took part

Friday 5 May 2023 King Charles III Coronation Celebration What a wonderful day, celebrating the Coronation of King Charles III this weekend. The children looked fabulous, and the classrooms were decorated to such a high standard. Children had tea parties in their classrooms, made decorations and found out about the Coronation service. In assembly, this morning, they sang the National Anthem and Land of Hope and Glory, waving their flags, in a sea of red, white and blue!

Friday 31 March 2023 Year 4 Kingswood 2023 Year 4 had a fantastic residential trip to Kingswood! The children were pushed to their limits but we came, we saw and we conquered our fears! Year 4 were brilliant ambassadors for our school and showed resilience throughout.We started off our trip with bushcraft and firelighting activities and some of our groups explored the wildlife in the ponds. After dinner, children took part in the scrap heap challenge (we had to dress up one of our team members as a dinosaur) before showing our dance moves at the disco.We had a jam-packed day two. We took on: high adrenaline zip lines; created our own Flintstones inspired buggies during a buggy build task; tested our accuracy in archery - with lots of children managing to hit a bullseye! The remaining groups explored the ponds and used classification keys to identify all sorts of wildlife! We reflected on our trip during the evening activities and competed against the other teams in campfire songs. We enjoyed marshmallows and a hot chocolate bef

Friday 24 March 2023 Woodstock Spelling Bee We have had a fabulous afternoon, celebrating the Woodstock Spelling Bee. It’s the first time we’ve been able to have the contest together in the hall. Children made posters to support their class representative.

Thursday 23 March 2023 Year 4 Synagogue Trip Year 4 loved visiting the synagogue in Leicester. They loved learning about Jewish traditions and found out where Jewish people worship. They were extremely excited to see what was behind the arch.

Tuesday 21 March 2023 Year 5 Ukulele This Spring term year 5 have been involved in Ukulele lessons. For the past 10 weeks they have had lessons taught by a specialist music teacher from Leicestershire school of music. The weeks ended with a fabulous performance in KS2 hall to parents and children from school.

Sunday 12 March 2023 Spring Attendance & Easter Raffle Easter ‘Egg-cellent’ attendance raffle begins today and runs to the end of term on the 31st March. During this time, any child that attends 95% or more will be entered into a raffle to win one of 10 Giant Easter eggs. This is in addition to the other school attendance rewards with a £20 voucher raffle for children who have excelled with 100% attendance and class reward afternoon.
