F1 The Gingerbread Man Adventure! 🍪
Over the past two weeks, we have been enjoying the classic tale “The Gingerbread Man” — and what a fun-filled adventure it has been! The children loved learning the story, especially the exciting part where he sings:
“Run, run as fast as you can,
You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!” 🏃♂️✨
To help us retell the story, we created our very own puppet show and acted out each part. At the play dough table, the children had a great time making gingerbread men with two eyes and three buttons — then placing them into the ‘oven’ to bake!
We also practiced our fine motor skills by cutting, drawing, and painting our own Gingerbread Man characters. In the water tray, we explored floating magnetic gingerbread men with numbers, and in maths we matched the correct number of buttons to the numbered dough characters.
Outdoors, we ran as fast as we could, trying to catch that cheeky Gingerbread Man before he escaped! 🏃♀️🍪
To finish our topic, we named the ingredients needed to bake gingerbread and then made and decorated our own delicious gingerbread men. Of course, we kept a close eye on them by checking the window — just in case they tried to run away! 👀😄
